Rafael Román Caballero
Biography:
Research Interests: I am a Spanish cognitive psychologist (born in Cordoba) that has been
able to link my two passions: the understanding of the brain and the
mind, and music. During my childhood, I learned to play the violin and I
discovered my passion for melodies and the hidden emotions, unflappable
over time, behind the scores. Years later I studied for a Bachelor in
Psychology at the University of Granada, where I also completed a Masters in
Cognitive Neuroscience and finished my PhD. My work focuses on different
aspects of music psychology, cognitive training, attention and
vigilance, and social cognition. My current project is a Marie
Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship (European Union) entitled 'Distinguishing
infant-directed speech and songs: The distinctive evolution of acoustic
features and visual entrainment in infants'.
Fun fact: as a good Spanish man born in Cordoba, I really love eating
snails. Yes... you read well. Don't google "caracoles Córdoba". Don't...
oh you already did it.
